Honest comparison

Treegarden vs TeamTailor

TeamTailor is a well-designed tool with a strong career page builder. But if you need more than an ATS - HR management, data export, custom user roles, or serious automation - the gaps add up quickly.

This comparison is based on publicly available features and verified user reviews from G2 and Capterra (2025–2026).

Where TeamTailor falls short

The following gaps come from recurring themes in user reviews on G2 and Capterra. These are factual observations, not marketing claims.

No data export

Users consistently report that candidate data cannot be exported from TeamTailor. When you eventually move platforms or need data for compliance audits, you are effectively locked in with no way to retrieve what you have collected.

ATS only - no HR

TeamTailor ends at the offer. There is no onboarding module, no leave management, no performance reviews, and no compensation tracking. Every hire requires a manual hand-off to a separate HR system, creating data entry overhead and fragmented employee records.

No custom user roles

TeamTailor provides a fixed set of predefined access levels. As your team grows and workflows become more complex, you cannot define precisely who sees which jobs, candidates, or salary information - a meaningful limitation for security-conscious organisations.

No auto-reject automation

There are no rule-based screening tools. Every application, regardless of how clearly it falls outside the job requirements, needs a manual review. For high-volume roles, this removes a significant source of potential time savings.

What you get with Treegarden

The full employee lifecycle in one platform

From the first job application through to performance reviews, leave management, and compensation - Treegarden covers the complete journey. When a candidate is hired, their data flows automatically into HR with no re-entry required.

Automation that actually saves time

Define custom auto-reject rules per job posting. Let the AI Recruiter search candidates, schedule interviews, and move stages using plain language. AI match scoring ranks applicants with explanations, so your team focuses on the right people.

Full control over your data

Export everything - candidates, notes, activity history - to Excel at any time. Your data is yours. Treegarden is GDPR compliant, ISO 27001 certified, and provides a complete audit trail so you always know who did what and when.

TeamTailor looks great in the demo. Then we realised we couldn't export our candidate data, couldn't create custom user roles, and there was no HR functionality at all. Treegarden does everything we actually needed.
