About the Role
The Operations Manager will oversee [warehouse operations / service delivery / multi-site production / business operations], manage a team of [X] direct reports, and own key performance metrics including throughput, cost per unit, and customer SLA compliance. This role reports to the [VP of Operations / COO] and partners closely with Finance, HR, Sales, and Technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations across [department / facility / region], meeting targets for quality, throughput, and cost
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of [X] supervisors and frontline employees through structured 1:1s and performance reviews
- Design and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) that improve consistency and reduce error rates
- Own operational KPIs including throughput, on-time delivery, unit cost, utilization, and SLA compliance; report weekly to senior leadership
- Identify process improvement opportunities using lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent methodologies and lead end-to-end implementation
- Coordinate with Supply Chain, Procurement, and Vendors to ensure material availability and service continuity
- Manage the annual operations budget; identify and execute cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality or safety
- Partner with HR on workforce planning, shift scheduling, and talent development programs
- Lead root cause analysis on operational failures and implement corrective actions within agreed timelines
- Drive adoption of new technology systems (WMS, ERP, scheduling software) and support change management
Required Qualifications
- 4–7 years of operations management experience, including at least 2 years leading a team of 10+ people
- Demonstrated track record of improving at least one core operational metric (throughput, cost, quality, or on-time delivery)
- Strong project management skills — ability to run multiple improvement initiatives simultaneously
- Proficiency in data analysis using Excel, Google Sheets, or BI tools (Tableau, Power BI)
- Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to VP and C-suite stakeholders
- Experience with operational software relevant to the function (WMS, ERP, CRM, or ticketing systems)
Nice to Have
- Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification
- MBA or advanced degree in Operations, Supply Chain, or Industrial Engineering

Salary Range
$80,000–$105,000 base + performance bonus (US 2026 benchmark); total comp typically $95,000–$130,000
