Recruitment agencies have problems generic ATS platforms don't even know exist

An agency runs 20–80 briefs concurrently across multiple clients, places candidates twice when possible, owns the candidate relationship across years and roles, and lives or dies by consultant KPIs and gross profit per placement. Generic in-house ATS platforms (Workable, Greenhouse, Lever) are built for a single hiring company filling its own roles. They cannot model agency workflows. Treegarden's agency edition can.

Multi-client pipeline isolation

Each client brief gets its own pipeline with separate stage names, screening criteria, and candidate visibility rules. Strict data segregation for GDPR — Client A's recruiters never see Client B's pipeline by default.

Candidate-first workflows

Your candidates persist across roles and years. Reverse search: "which of my candidates would fit this new brief?" Marketed-not-placed campaigns. Long-term talent nurturing with consent-managed re-engagement.

IR35 contractor routing

Built-in PAYE vs Limited Company vs Umbrella distinction at application capture. SDS audit trail. HMRC-grade evidence storage. Specialist contractor pipeline with rate management and timesheet handoff.

Consultant KPI dashboards

Per-consultant placement count, gross profit, time-to-fill, candidate-to-placement ratio. Real-time team leaderboards. Commission calculation export to your finance system.

Bullhorn / Salesforce import

Migrating from Bullhorn or Salesforce? Direct importer that maps custom fields, preserves activity history, and brings your last 5 years of candidate data across in 7–10 days.

GDPR consent management

UK-GDPR compliant consent capture at application, configurable consent expiry, automatic re-consent campaigns, and one-click subject access response. ICO-ready audit log of every data interaction.

Transparent GBP pricing

Frequently asked questions

How is an agency ATS different from an in-house company ATS?
Agency ATS platforms (Bullhorn, Vincere, Mercury, Treegarden) model multiple concurrent client briefs, candidate ownership across years, marketed-not-placed candidate flows, and consultant KPI tracking. In-house ATS platforms (Workable, Greenhouse, Lever) model a single company filling its own roles — there is no concept of "client" because the company is the only client. Using an in-house ATS for agency work breaks GDPR data segregation and gives you no commercial reporting.
Does the platform handle IR35 status workflows?
Yes. Treegarden's contractor pipeline captures Status Determination Statement evidence at the role level, routes inside-IR35 candidates through your umbrella company workflow, outside-IR35 through Limited company onboarding, and maintains the audit trail HMRC expects in a compliance investigation. Rate uplift calculations for IR35-affected roles are built in.
Can we import existing data from Bullhorn or Vincere?
Yes. Treegarden provides migration support from Bullhorn, Vincere and Salesforce-based recruiting CRMs - mapping fields, preserving activity history and bringing candidate documents across. Timelines depend on your data volume and how much cleanup it needs; ask for an estimate on the demo call.
How does GDPR consent renewal work?
Treegarden tracks each candidate's consent expiry independently. Before expiry, the platform emails the candidate asking to renew consent for talent-pool retention. If they decline or do not respond, the system either anonymises or deletes the record per your configured retention policy. The ICO audit log records every consent change with timestamp and source.
How much does this cost compared to Bullhorn?
Bullhorn does not publish UK pricing - it is quoted per consultant after a sales process, so your total grows with headcount. Treegarden publishes its prices: agencies use the standard Startup, Growth and Scale plans (£235, £395 and £710 per month, 20% lower on annual billing) with no per-consultant fees, and UK compliance workflows such as IR35 and right-to-work are included rather than sold as add-ons.
Can different consultants see different candidate sets?
Yes. Treegarden has granular visibility rules: per-consultant, per-team, per-client, per-brief. You can isolate Client A's candidate pool entirely from Client B's, or share specific talent pools across teams. GDPR data segregation rules can be enforced automatically at the consent capture stage.
